Ben Winter holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins in London and is also an accomplished conservation‑grade picture framer.
Living on the south coast, not far from Lymington, Ben paints still lifes, landscapes, portraits and, more recently, abstract works. He works confidently across a wide range of media — charcoal, pastel, oils, watercolour and acrylic — yet his focus remains constant: an exploration of light, colour and composition. Whether capturing the immediacy of a moment or the essence of a person or place, Ben approaches every piece through the discipline of observational drawing, which he sees as the essential foundation for both representational and abstract work.
Ben exhibits widely, including regular joint shows with his mother, the renowned printmaker Sally Winter, and his brother, fellow painter Tom Winter.
