Beverley Saunders draws her inspiration from local boatyards and the coastal environment, capturing the fleeting colours, patterns and textures found on boat hulls and the overlooked fragments of boatyard life. Her photographic works carry a subtle ambiguity, often leaving viewers unsure whether they are looking at a photograph or an abstract painting.
After completing her MA at the Royal College of Art in London, Bev built a successful career as a writer, designer and illustrator for leading publishers, as well as an exhibition designer. Before relocating to Lymington, she was the final‑year tutor on the BA (Hons) Graphic Design course at Nottingham Trent University. She is a member of the Chartered Society of Designers and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Having happily stepped away from the “grown‑up” world, Bev now devotes her time to photography and co‑owns Coastal Gallery with Stewart Mechem.
