Deborah Hillyar has a degree in textiles and worked in the fashion industry in New York for 25 years. She now uses her design experience to create vibrant, colourful paintings with a strong pattern element. Much of her work incorporates monoprint and collage, creating textures and backgrounds for her paintings.

She has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and the RWA Bristol, as well as, local galleries and exhibitions. She has won an award for collage work and also runs local workshops.
