Completing a Diploma in Graphic Design; understanding colour; plus life drawing proved invaluable. My influences are the Scottish Colourists and Glasgow Boys, - my grandmother owned a few! I consider myself a colourist, concentrating on landscape: trees, castle ruins, reflections in water, seascapes. Colour, light, good composition, using layers of paint result in a rich tapestry of hue and texture.
Alongside being a studio artist, I have run art courses; art demos; workshops; undertaken commissions of house portraits and favourite vistas. Paintings in UK, Australia, Switzerland and South Africa.
