My work covers a wide variety of styles in all mediums as I practise many art disciplines. I do not work to one formulaic method, but like to experiment with new ways to look at, and capture, the essence and atmosphere of my subject, and use a variety of techniques to produce the desired effect.
My paintings include large feature acrylic abstracts, character oil portraits, watercolour studies, land and seascapes in acrylics and oils, and ink figurative abstracts – my popular INKLINGS, I also produce the illustrations for my children’s books, some drawn, some digital.
The local countryside, coast and nature are often an inspiration, and exploration of new techniques leads to interesting abstract pieces. Among the many great artists Lesley admires are Turner, van Gogh, Mark Rothko, Edward Hopper and Piet Mondrian.
