My name is Regina Zakrzewska. I am a psychologist and artist specializing in the art of painting on silk, currently based in the United Kingdom.
Art is my greatest passion. I work in various forms of decorative art, including silk painting, watercolor, Arabic calligraphy, and Islamic geometry. I approach each silk painting with deep care and attention, creating pieces that are not only visually striking but also emotionally expressive. Every painting I create is original and unique—each tells its own story, with colors chosen to reflect particular emotions and meanings. During my time in Qatar, I led silk-painting workshops for both children and adults and participated in numerous exhibitions. I also launched a highly successful initiative called “Speaking Silk and Colours”, a campaign designed to support patients—particularly those battling cancer—through the healing power of art.
This project was sponsored by leading institutions including the National Center for Cancer Care and Research, Hamad General Hospital’s Pediatric Clinic, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Supreme Council of Health (now the Ministry of Health). Patients were invited to create their own silk paintings during workshops, and their artworks were later showcased in a public exhibition to raise awareness about cancer and patient experiences. The initiative was widely covered by Qatari media.
