Now living in Hampshire, Norwegian national Sonja studied woven textiles and taught for several years before moving into education management.
Moving to the New Forest gave her the opportunity indulge in her passion for ceramics and have her own studio. Her Dotty Pots are hand built using stoneware clay. She decorates with small dots using underglazes and finished with a transparent glaze. Her practice features geometric patterns and is influenced by and the ebb and flow of the natural world.
Each piece has a restricted colour palette allowing interaction between the colours. Her work is in America, Australia, Norway, France and England. She has exhibited at Palais de Vaches, Exbury, The Red House Gallery Christchurch, The Fronteer Gallery, Sheffield and Gallery Grounds in Southampton. Her work can be purchased direct.
