Artizan Collective

Artizan Collective is a not for profit Social Enterprise dedicated to the promotion of culture in Torbay, supporting wider engagement and greater accessibility to arts for our communities, as we work toward our longer-term aim to improve the overall outlook of the visual arts landscape in Torbay.

Based at Fleet Street in the Artizan Collective Gallery, the Collective seeks to provide opportunities for artists living and working in the Bay, as well as supporting students and emerging and artists, by creating affordable exhibition opportunities, awards and bursaries. In addition, the Collective is working to develop affordable community workshops, artist studios and production spaces in partnership with other cultural organisations. Through this activity we aim to improve communication and encourage connected thinking between creative individuals and organisations, and between these groups, arts audiences and consumers of cultural activity, to help deliver greater engagement and awareness of opportunities, events and projects.

More widely as part of our activity and partnership working we hope to contribute to raising the profile of Torbay arts and culture both locally and nationally which will bring with it economic benefits to stakeholders and through increased engagement have a positive impact on the wellbeing of local audiences.

Full details of the rolling programme of exhibitions and events can be found on the Gallery’s websites and across their social media platforms, where they also publish regular artist interviews, exhibition albums and local culture updates. All collections are available to view and purchase online so audiences can plan their visits in our virtual galleries prior to their trip. Private morning viewings can also be booked Tuesday-Friday at no charge.
